Wreths

This Holiday season I am finding it so hard to sit down and post. Crafting is what I want to be doing all the time, but between everything... anyways enough about that. I did do this very cute wreth. While we were decorating for Christmas, my dad pulls out this wreth
It is okay. Well the old plaid bow is a little out dated. My mother says you are not going to but that on the dor are you. My dad says whats wrong with it. And any one who knows my dad of course he thinks it is just fine. Now I went to joanne and got 4 dollars worth of stuff and this is what became of the four dollars. We all like it a lot. My mom bought the wreth 4 or 5 years ago for 99cents. Not to bad for a 5 dollar wreth

Travel Bags

We are making a 14 hour trek this Christmas, so I thought I would make bags for the kids for the trip.  I know they won't probably last longer then this trip so I didn't spend a lot of time on them, but they will do!
I used some fleece i had leftover so i wouldn't have to worry about hemming.  I cut two piece the same size. I didn't measure i just cut it the size I thought would work.
I sewed a pocket on the front to hold little stuff and crayons.

Then with right sides together I sewed three sides and then turned it right side out.  I thought mine looked a little to long, so I just made a big cuff at the top.

My plan was to hook it on to the back of the seats in the van.  Our headrests come off so I didn't need a very long handle.  If your headrest doesn't come off, I would suggest making ties instead of a handle. Sew the handle/ties to the back of the bag.

This will be perfect for them to keep track of their goodies that they will be getting along the way!

Christmas Favors

Need a Christmas Party favor idea??
(Sorry it's sideways. . .i couldn't get it to flip)  I took the Hershey nuggets, and wrapped them in green paper.  I cut the paper different sizes so that it would look like  a tree.  The white dots are the lights :)- and a pretty little star on top!

Elves

We had an tradition in our family that we were doing tonight, and last minute I decided that I wanted to dress the kids up as elves.  They turned out so stinking cute. . .and after tonight they can use them as jammies.

I bought green shirts at the store.  I got them a little big, so they would cover the bum :)  I cut the bottom and sleeves to look like this. . .

The kids helped me string bells on for there necklaces. Then I tied fabric knots in between the bells.
I found red leggings for the two little ones, and just bought red tights for the older ones.

They were so excited to dress-up like elves and Landon wanted to be named Rudolf.

Number Book

This is the last of my Christmas projects! Yeah, I am ready for Christmas.I wanted to make my daughter a book she could "eat" though also learn. I thought a number book would just be so cool. I actully got the idea from a lady on etsy. I did mine a little different. My book finishes about 8x8.

Reindeer Cookie Sandwhiches

These are great for kids to make. All we did was picked up some Pillsbury sugar cookies. We liked the reindeer ones, they have other options. Then you do the frosting idea that my sister came up with half frosting half cool whip squeeze it inbetween two cookies. We added some sprinkles around the edge to add a little more. Sorry the pictures aren't very pretty, but how pretty are things when you have a two year old helping. We used chocolate fosting... this frosting taste a lot like hot chocolate. So you could make some chocolate cupcakes, and top it with this frosting then put on marshmellows and you have a hot chocolate cupcake! The french vanilla marshmellows would be so good.

Felt Food

So Simplicity Patterns has this great pattern for felt food. The food goes together fairly easily. I little bit of hand sewing, but not bad. I love how they turned out!

Fluffy Frosting

December at our house is also a birthday month, so I thought I would share the frosting I came up with. . .well probably not really. . .but I like to think I did :)
i made just regular cupcakes, and then for the frosting i took the pre-made stuff from a jar-which i think it would work with homemade frosting to- and mixed it with a tub of cool whip. This makes the frosting very light, and makes it feel like your not biting into a chunk of sugar-which in all reality, it's probably more sugar, but you get the idea ;)-then i got a big Ziploc bag and at one corner cut a slit about 1/2 inch long to make two flappy wings.  I then pushed those two flappy wings together, and made another slit, doing this will cause you to have four flappy wings. (The green marks are the first cuts, and the red mark is the cut for this step) I then filled the bag with the frosting and swirled it on the cupcakes sprinkles on some dots and all done-very fast and very easy!!
